Yokes

Magnetic Particle Inspection Yoke is a device used in magnetic particle inspection (MPI), which is a non-destructive testing method used to detect surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials. The yoke creates a magnetic field that can be applied to the test surface, and iron oxide or iron oxide-coated magnetic particles are introduced to the surface. The magnetic field causes the particles to be attracted to areas of flux leakage where they form an easily visible indication of the location of a discontinuity. The yoke is typically portable and can be used on a variety of different test specimens.
